Tamarind Chutney or Imli Ki Chutney is a delicious Sweet and Sour Tamarind Sauce made using tamarind and spices. Imli Ki Khatti Meethi Chatni is used to enjoy with many snacks. You can easily make this famous imli ki chutney at home with easily available ingredients and at much cheaper price. Follow these easy steps and make this amazingly mouthwatering tamarind dip / imli ki chutni. This dip can be enjoyed with any fried or baked item or even with BBQ. Ingredients Of Tamarind Chutney: 500g soft tamarind. 1 tsp Salt. 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder. 1 tsp All Spice Powder. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds. 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Sugar (You Can Use Date Syrup Or Jaggery). 1 tbs Chaat Masala.


Method:

Take a glass bowl. Add about 2-3 cups of water and soak tamarind in it for about 1 hours. I'm using soft tamarind. If you are using hard tamarind, it may take 3-4 hours in water to become soft enough so that you can remove seeds of tamarind. After soaked in water, remove seeds and gather tamarind pulp. Blend the tamarind pulp in blender. Strain that blended tamarind pulp with the help of strainer. Add some water while straining so that the pulp can easily be strained out of strainer. Remove unwanted thick pulp (that can be roots and some other particles) and at the end smooth tamarind pulp is gathered.
Transfer that smooth tamarind pulp to a cooking pot. Add all above mentioned ingredients, mix well and cook on medium to high flame. Stir while cooking. Turn off heat after the tamarind sauce becomes thick enough. Enjoy this delicious khatti meethi imli ki chutni with your favorite snacks.
